All harpies are known to be territorial. Many violently so. But constantly fighting intruders incurs a cost on the harpies’ wellbeing and health, so the local roost of Eternity Island evolved a very different method of turning humans around. The success rate was perfect. Every sailor ended up waddling back to his moored ship with a grin on his face.
